EMBEDDED ANALYTICS GLOSSARY
A custom event increases interaction between two applications, for instance a dashboard and another application. Custom events trigger actions based on specific data clicked on in a chart. To illustrate with an example: in a marketing campaign tool, a user can create new target lists by visually segmenting users in a dashboard using slice & dice across various dimensions. The new target list can then be used for new campaigns in the core business flow across the company.
